Clare was teaching "Immeasura-bubbly" to a crowd of Ministers' Wives at a conference when one asked: "But when do you get the chance to sing these songs?" - eh, what? In Sunday School, Holiday Clubs, midweek clubs, and in the main service on Sunday of course.
"You sing children's songs in church on Sunday?" came the surprised reply.
Like - duh!
If you're a church minister, please give the children the chance to sing at least one of their songs in your main service, assuming they're in there. They're part of the body, aren't they? They have to sing your songs, don't they? Their songs are better than yours, aren't they? :D
I expect I'm preaching to the converted here, but you've got to value children (I remember someone quite important saying something about that...*) - and this is a great way of showing them you value them.
* if that's too subtle, try Matthew 19:13-14
